Tunica Methodist Church
About Our Church
A congregation of the Global Methodist Church, rooted in Scripture and the Methodist tradition, gathered in Tunica, Mississippi.
Who We Are
Tunica Methodist Church is a congregation of the Global Methodist Church, rooted in the Methodist tradition and committed to the authority of Holy Scripture. We are a community of disciples — people who take seriously the call to be with Jesus, become like Him, and do as He did.
Our life together is shaped by worship, study, prayer, and service. We believe disciples form disciples — that the faith is not just received but passed on, intentionally and relationally, from one follower of Christ to the next.
We are a small congregation with deep roots in Tunica, Mississippi. We are learning to love — God, one another, and our neighbors.
Meet Pastor Tim
Tim Sisk
Pastor, Tunica Methodist Church
Pastor Tim Sisk came to Tunica Methodist Church in May 2026, bringing more than thirty-three years of pastoral ministry experience. A Starkville, Mississippi native, he is a graduate of Starkville High School, Mississippi College (B.A., Religion), and Candler School of Theology, Emory University (M.Div.).
Pastor Tim's ministry is shaped by a deep love for Scripture, the ancient practices of the Church, and the conviction that disciples are formed — not just converted. He preaches expository sermons rooted in the lectionary, leads with a teacher's heart, and believes the local church is God's primary instrument for making disciples who make disciples.
He has been married to Lorie for thirty-five years — his partner in ministry and in life — and together they are the proud parents of three adult children. They are grateful to call Tunica home.
Pastor Tim welcomes the opportunity to connect with anyone who has questions about the faith, the church, or what it means to follow Jesus. He can be reached directly by call, text, or email.

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me."
John 15:4
What We Believe
The Authority of Scripture
We hold that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. Scripture is not merely a record of human experience — it is the living Word through which God speaks to His people.
The Historic Christian Faith
We confess the faith once delivered to the saints — the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the great doctrines of the Church: the Trinity, the Incarnation, the Atonement, the Resurrection, and the promised return of Christ.
The Wesleyan Tradition
We stand in the tradition of John Wesley, who taught that God's grace is available to all, that genuine faith produces holiness of heart and life, and that disciples are formed through the means of grace — Scripture, prayer, worship, and community.
Personal and Social Holiness
Wesley taught that there is no personal holiness without social holiness. We are called not only to be transformed inwardly but to love our neighbors outwardly — in our families, our congregation, and our community.
The Local Church
The local congregation is God's primary instrument for making disciples. The church is not a building or a program — it is a people, gathered by grace, formed together by Word and Sacrament.
Disciples Who Form Disciples
We take seriously the Great Commission. The faith is not merely received — it is passed on, intentionally and relationally, from one follower of Christ to the next. This is the work of the Church in every generation.
"The primary work of the church — its only work, really — is to form disciples."
— Pastor Tim Sisk
The Global Methodist Church
The Global Methodist Church is a theologically orthodox Wesleyan denomination that holds to the authority of Scripture and the historic Christian faith. It was formed by Christians who believe the Methodist movement's Wesleyan roots — personal holiness, social holiness, and the transforming grace of Jesus Christ — are worth preserving and passing on.
We are proud to be a congregation of the Global Methodist Church.
