I've been thinking about Operation Christmas Child this year, and I'd like for us as a church to participate — but I want to be honest that this isn't a foregone conclusion. Right now it's just an idea I'm bringing to you.
If you're not familiar with it: you pack a shoebox with toys, school supplies, and personal care items, and it goes to a child somewhere in the world who may never have received a gift with their name on it — along with the message that they are loved.
One couple has already come to me wanting to do this, and that's what got me thinking it might be something Tunica Methodist could take on together. Watch the video below and see what you think. If this is something you'd like to be part of — packing boxes, helping organize a collection, or just praying it forward — I'd love to hear from you.
National Collection Week is November 16–23, so we have time to figure out together what this could look like for us.
